Electrochemical protection reduces corrosion of underground and submerged metal structures by controlling electrical potential. It complements protective coatings for pipelines, tanks and process infrastructure.

We select the system around facility parameters, coating condition, soil resistivity, stray currents, power availability, service life and monitoring requirements.

How is explosion-proof equipment selected?+

By hazardous-area class, Ex marking, gas group and temperature class, IP rating, climate, operating temperature, supply voltage and project requirements.

What documents are supplied with VELAN equipment?+

The package includes operating and conformity documents for the selected product configuration; the exact list is agreed before ordering.

What is included in a pipeline cathodic protection system?+

Typically a cathodic protection station, anode groundbed, test stations, reference electrodes, cable systems and connection accessories.

How does cathodic protection differ from sacrificial protection?+

Cathodic protection uses an external DC power source; sacrificial protection works autonomously using a more electronegative metal anode.

What input data is needed for an ECP proposal?+

Facility type and size, pipeline diameter and length, coating condition, soil properties, stray currents, power availability, service life and design constraints.
